Advocacy

NARCDC has been working to make a national presence and to be an advocate for local RC&D Councils. At this time over 30 RC&D Councils have participated in our mini-grant programs supported by NRCS Cooperative Agreements and the hard work of the grants committee. The NARCDC Board makes a point of speaking at many leadership meetings, RC&D exhibits and presentations are part of state/national meetings and we are a full partner with the National Conservation Planning Partnership. Our relationships have strengthened and as a result we now have funding for an executive director and additional opportunities for local councils. A concerted effort is underway to secure funding to have RC&D Councils assist with the delivery of Farm Bill Programs.
