Since 1989, the NARC&DC has been successful in helping RC&D Councils address community needs such as: creating and expanding jobs, food security issues, implementing rural utilities and housing programs, working with underrepresented farmers and ranchers to add value to their products, bridging the technology divide in rural communities, and implementing biomass energy production projects.
Some of the ways we help our Members are as follows:
Legislative Information: The National Association provides press releases, fact sheets and updated information on current events, legislation and funding issues that affect RC&D Councils. We are the voice of RC&D Councils in Washington, DC and we will work to ensure their voice is heard in Washington, DC.
Grants: The NARC&DC provides grant searching tools for Members. We also obtain and manage grants for our Members. Occasionally, we request proposals for available grants; please see our NARC&DC Yahoo Listserv Group and website homepage for current request for proposals. Training Programs: The National Association provides a variety of training opportunities. Some training seminars are available to Members Only at no cost, otherwise there is a fee for training seminars. Below are trainings currently offered to non-Members for a fee. NARC&DC's Circle of Diamond certification program: The Circle of Diamonds program highlights the work that RC&D Councils perform in their communities and recognizes good stewardship of the local non-profit council in “Making Things Happen.” It is set up to be a proactive means for RC&D Councils to demonstrate that they are complying with best non-profit management practices.
