Peggy McNeil Mid Atlantic RC&D Association
Ms. McNeil beganher tenure in RC&D as a representative of the Mercer County Soil and Water Conservation District in 1980 as a charter member of the South Jersey RC&D Council. Her leadership was soon recognized and she became president of the council in 1984 and later organized and assumed the duties as president of the New Jersey RC&D Association. A charter member of the Mid-Atlantic RC&D Association and Ms McNeil was the first president for the Region, a position that she held for 10 years. Know as the RC&D lady in New Jersey, Ms McNeil was one of the founders of the NARC&DC where she served as the Board secretary for many years. As a strong advocate for the RC&D program, Ms. McNeil was often called on to be part of a team, which testified before Congressional hearings at a time when the RC&D program was targeted for phase-out.
