The Iowa League of RC&Ds has led six cooperative projects that provided financial resources technical resources to assist individual council implement projects. This state RC&D Association helped develop and implement collaborative projects that provided capacity building and project resources to individual RC&D Councils.

Of the total project value, $674,000 was federal funds invested from several sources. The total project value of $1,297,000 included grants and associated matching funds. Additional returns on the investment would result off-shoot projects that were stimulated by the funds listed.
The combined projects resulted in capacity building training to 7 RC&Ds for byway assistance and 10 RC&Ds for local food system development assistance, 5 RC&Ds for Wetland Mitigation Banking Assistance, 11 RC&Ds for Farmers Market Assistance, and 8 RC&Ds for adding cultural events to farmers markets. This included support for 7 RC&D byway staff positions, 10 RC&D local food coordinators, 1 Wetland Mitigation Bank manager and a part time director for the Iowa League of RC&Ds. Additional benefits included marketing and promotion for 91 farmers markets and adding 40 educational or cultural events at local farmers markets.
